I’m Sara!

A lifelong Yooper, born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and proud to be leading the charge - Yooper Bowl™ is a distinctive entertainment brand that originated in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as a way to bring communities together through shared experiences, friendly competition, and local engagement. 

The brand has grown into a platform for events, storytelling, and community impact. Yooper Bowl™ is  branded, community-driven event series and entertainment experience created to celebrate the culture, spirit, and traditions of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Through local events, friendly competitions, and digital engagement, Yooper Bowl™  connects communities, organizations, and fans in a uniquely Yooper way.

I’ve spent the past 25+ years working in the nonprofit world, leading national efforts focused on education policy, workforce development, and community advocacy. Most recently, I’ve directed All4Ed’s Future Ready Schools® initiative bringing together educators, policymakers, and community leaders to improve outcomes for students across the country.

But no matter where my work has taken me, the UP has always been home in my heart. After raising my two amazing kids in Maryland - I’ve made my way back to the place that shaped me. I believe in the power of community, tradition, and a Yooper spirit to bring people together. 

Yooper Bowl™ is a community-powered, Upper Peninsula-born entertainment experience that brings people together through friendly competition, local events, and shared traditions in the region we love. I’m honored to help bring it to life.
